Biography

Heather Peebles (she/her or they/them) is a Twin Cities-based queer, biracial artist.

They are interested in the complexities of place and how it impacts how we identify or are identified: geography, built environments, societal constructs, and how people navigate spaces as "outsider" or "other".

​

They are a nerd and earth baby, having grown up with video games, via early internet forums, and in the woods.

With this, they are critical of how capitalist systems negatively impact the natural environment and our sense of self/worth in life.

Mental health and intergenerational trauma are running themes in their artwork and lifework: interrupting cycles of intentional and unintentional harm, stigmas around mental health, and honoring legacy while accepting accountability.
